Job summary

Parsons is seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the development, integration, testing, and deployment of applications within tactical edge and mission-focused environments for U.S. Government customers.

You will apply experience with containerization, automation, CI/CD, and secure software delivery to build reliable capabilities. You will work in an Agile environment, deploy using Docker and Kubernetes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, CS, IT or related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government/DoD or cleared environments.
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps and CI/CD methodologies and practices.
  • Experience Linux environments (RHEL/Ubuntu) and scripting languages.
  • Scripting languages: Bash, Shell, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
  • Experience with IaC and tools: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into integrated technical solutions while meeting schedules and security constraints.
  • Work in an Agile environment with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain applications for tactical environments.
  • Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines for dev, test, and prod.
  • Deploy and manage containerized apps using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint demos, and integration events.
  • Develop, document, and execute integration and test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, container, automation, and deployment issues.
  • Review code, configurations, IaC, and automation scripts for quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical docs, deployment procedures, and guides.

Job Description

Parsons is seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the development, integration, testing, and deployment of applications within tactical edge and mission-focused environments. You will apply your experience with application integration, automation, containerization, orchestration, and secure software delivery to provide reliable capabilities for U.S. Government customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Translate customer and mission requirements into integrated technical solutions while meeting program schedules, security requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Work within an Agile development environment using DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain applications that support tactical and mission-focused environments.
  • Build, operate, and maintain automated deployment pipelines for development, staging, testing, and production environments.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, sprint demonstrations, integration events, and after-action reviews.
  • Develop and integrate scalable software solutions that support user testing, evaluation, and operational deployment.
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive integration and test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, container, automation, and deployment issues.
  • Conduct peer reviews of software code, configurations, infrastructure-as-code, and automation scripts.
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including software design documents, deployment procedures, operational guides, and user-focused documentation.
Required Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
  • Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), or other cleared environments.
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and practices.
  • Experience developing and operating applications in Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
  • Experience with scripting and software development technologies such as Bash, Shell, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with YAML and JSON.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong software integration, troubleshooting, and testing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and software development teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders to translate mission requirements into effective technical solutions.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
  • SAFe Agile training or certification, such as Agile Software Engineer, SAFe for Teams, or SAFe for Government.
  • Experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications in DoD tactical edge environments.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with data parsing, data ingestion, and data transformation methodologies.
  • Experience with Representational State Transfer (RESTful) web services and enterprise Application Programming Interface (API) design and integration.
  • Web development experience with an emphasis on User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX).
  • Experience implementing security controls within DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and secure software development practices.
  • Experience supporting disconnected, disrupted, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environments.
  • Familiarity with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), tactical communications, or mission command systems.
Security Clearance Requirement

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position. This position is part of our Federal Solutions team. Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
