Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join the Undersea Warfare team in Fall River, MA. The role focuses on secure, automated software delivery across connected and air-gapped environments, with CI/CD pipelines, security tooling, and platform tooling.

You will work with Jenkins, GitLab, Kubernetes, and IaC tools to enforce NIST/DI SA STIGs RMF, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and security in mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required
  • 5+ years of full-time software and/or cybersecurity experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Familiarity with container orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Hands-on scripting (Python, Bash) or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with Git

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins, following established enterprise patterns
  • Integrate and operate automated security controls within pipelines, including SAST, SCA, container scanning, SBOM generation, and secrets detection
  • Support and maintain core Software Factory tooling (e.g., GitLab, artifact repositories, scanning tools, CI/CD infrastructure)
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads using Kubernetes (RKE2 or similar distributions)
  • Operate and support DevSecOps platforms within air-gapped classified environments, including packaging and deploying dependencies, troubleshooting environment-specific issues, and supporting repeatable software delivery without external connectivity
  • Assist in enforcing compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, DISA STIGs, RMF) through automation and pipeline controls
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and tooling, documenting root causes and solutions
  • Gather developer feedback and identify opportunities to improve platform usability, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate with software engineers, security teams, and infrastructure teams to support coordinated delivery efforts

About The Role

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a leading defense technology company, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to be part of our Undersea Warfare team and based out of our Fall River, MA location.

We provide a standardized developer platform that integrates CI/CD pipelines, security scanning, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling across both connected and classified environments. A portion of this work occurs in air-gapped environments, where automation, repeatability, and disciplined processes are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities
What You Will Do
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins, following established enterprise patterns

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Who You Are (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent full-time professional experience
  • 5+ years of full-time professional software and/or cybersecurity experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Experience in software development processes
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Familiarity with container orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Hands‑on familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) for automation of security tasks.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and grow
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps or DevOps role
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices and automated security testing tools
  • Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and remediating software vulnerabilities, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks such as NIST, DISA STIGs, or RMF
  • Experience working in defense, government, or other mission-critical domains.
Pay Range*

$135,000 - $231,000 or $164,000 - $273,000

This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels. Therefore, more than one pay range has been included, commensurate with experience.
