Job summary

GCI Incorporated seeks a DevSecOps Engineer Summer Intern to support engineering and information systems on security-focused projects. You will assist in scripting, debugging, and testing, and collaborate with the development team to strengthen CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.

Must be a currently enrolled full-time college student returning for Fall 2027, majoring in CS/CE/IT or other technical fields, with a 3.0 GPA+ preferred and US citizenship with interest in obtaining a

Qualifications

• Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language and willingness to learn new languages as required.
• Experience as a power-user or administrator of DevSecOps Tools (CI/CD Pipeline, IaC, Containers, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, complete tasks independently and creatively, and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical tasks in support of engineering, information systems, or related technical operations.
• Collaborate with the development team to support the design, development, and testing of software applications, modules, and components.
• Assist in scripting, debugging, and troubleshooting system issues to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute ideas for enhancing product functionality and usability.
• Conduct thorough research on emerging DevSecOps methodologies, technologies, system configurations, and development tools to stay updated with industry trends.
• Work closely with senior administrators and mentors to learn and apply system administration methodologies and techniques.
• Participate in special projects as required.
