As part of the DevOps and security efforts on the Apple Health Software team, you will work at the core of Apple’s values. We support products that empower customers to live healthier lives while ensuring their data privacy and security.

Your responsibilities include maintaining high DevOps and security standards, developing new programs, processes, and tooling. This role collaborates across teams within Apple Health Software and partners with Apple Information Security. A builder mindset and obsession with customer experience are essential. Our goal is to empower users without compromising security.

Description

We seek an experienced DevSecOps engineer with expertise in application or infrastructure security. Your work will blend technical skills with a human-centered approach to build quality infrastructure and foster a security culture. You will have opportunities to shape this role and our roadmap. Initial responsibilities include:

1. Building security-focused infrastructure and automations, emphasizing security early in development
2. Reviewing code (Java and Python) for vulnerabilities and guiding remediation
3. Leading security design reviews and developing threat modeling programs
4. Engaging with engineers and stakeholders to address questions and concerns
5. Contributing to vulnerability management and remediation prioritization
6. Participating in DevOps on-call rotations to support infrastructure and users

Future initiatives may include:

• Developing offensive security programs, assessments, penetration tests, and red team activities
• Leading security demonstrations, workshops, and exercises to promote security awareness

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years in offensive security, including assessments, penetration testing, or red teaming
• Experience with threat modeling
• Experience with security tooling across the software development lifecycle
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in Java and Python
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure and security automation
• Code review and vulnerability assessment experience
• Security input in design reviews
• Strong communication and cross-functional skills
• Curiosity and adaptability

Pay & Benefits
