Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to architect, automate, and optimize secure infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments in Huntsville, AL. You will drive CI/CD automation, integrate security practices, and manage scalable Kubernetes workloads to ensure mission-critical reliability.

The role requires 5+ years in DevSecOps or related fields, with DoD 8570 IAT II certification or equivalent and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• BS in Engineering, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Architecture.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT II.
• Experience with modern CI/CD ecosystems (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on with Kubernetes environments and IaC tools (Helm, Ansible, Terraform).
• Proficient in Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and scripting (Python/Bash/Go).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and automate secure infrastructure deployments (IaC).
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security scanning.
• Integrate security checks and container hardening into pipelines.
• Manage scalable Kubernetes workloads and clusters.
• Monitor, log, and alert to maintain reliability.
• Provide on-call support to troubleshoot performance issues.

Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to architect, automate, and optimize secure infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. In this role, you will drive CI/CD pipeline automation, integrate continuous security practices, and manage scalable Kubernetes workloads. You will play a critical role in streamlining deployments, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining compliance for mission-critical applications.

As a DevSecOps Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and build automated infrastructure deployments and updates using modern configuration management and provisioning tools.
• Pipeline Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines that seamlessly integrate build, test, and security scanning processes.
• Continuous Security: Integrate continuous security and compliance checks into pipelines, managing hardened containers and automating security compliance.
• Container Orchestration: Manage, scale, and optimize containerized workloads and clusters using Kubernetes and the Big Bang ecosystem.
• Observability & Reliability: Engineer comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively maintain application health and system reliability.
• Operational Support: Share on-call responsibilities with the engineering team to assist troubleshooting system anomalies and resolving performance bottlenecks.

Job Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• Education: B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Architecture.
• Certification: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification.
• DevSecOps Tools: Proven experience with modern CI/CD ecosystems (Gitlab CI, Github Actions, etc.).
• Orchestration & IaC: Hands-on expertise managing Kubernetes environments (K8s, EKS, RKE2) and utilizing orchestration/provisioning tools like Helm, Ansible, and Terraform.
• OS Administration: Proven expertise in configuring, managing, and optimizing enterprise Linux environments (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Scripting: Strong scripting capabilities (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation, tool integration, and system administration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Tools and Technologies:

• DoW Software Factories: Experience with Big Bang, Platform One, and Iron Bank.
• CI/CD Infrastructure: Administration, configuration, and scaling of GitLab Runners.
• Container Security: Hands-on experience utilizing rootless Podman for secure container management.
• Infrastructure & Configuration: Advanced deployment experience using Helm, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Observability Stacks: Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and/or the ELK/EFK stack.
