Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a DevOps & Tooling Manager to lead the design, migration, and operation of automation and CI/CD tooling within HPE Networking. The role focuses on migrating tools to Puerto Rico, building a high-performing team, and driving the tooling roadmap in alignment with broader goals.

The role requires strong experience in DevOps, SRE, and tooling, with a proven track record in large-scale releases and platform migrations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, and tooling engineering, with at least 3 years in managerial roles.
• Proven experience managing large-scale release engineering, platform migration, and automation projects without service disruption.
• Strong technical skills in Python, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Linux, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Migration Leadership: Own the migration of engineering tools, CI/CD pipelines, and workflows for HPE Networking tools into the Puerto Rico environment.
• Team Management: Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, setting technical standards and direction.
• Roadmap Ownership: Prioritize and own the developer tooling and infrastructure roadmap for Puerto Rico, aligning with global engineering needs.
• Reliability & SRE: Ensure service reliability, manage on-call and incident response, and reduce downtime through blameless postmortems.
• Hands-On Delivery: Contribute directly to technical problem-solving, setup, and unblocking engineers.
• CI/CD & Build Systems: Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and artifact management.
• Platform & IaC: Manage containerized platforms and cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
• DevSecOps: Embed security into the release process, including SAST/DAST, SBOM, and vulnerability management.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with global engineering teams, release, product, and support teams across geographies.
• AI & Automation: Apply AI/ML models and AI agents to automate workflows, surface insights, and implement AI-Driven Ops.
