Job summary

VDart Inc in Houston, TX seeks a DevOps & Terraform Consultant to design and manage IaC in AWS and Azure. You will build production-grade Terraform modules, manage state in Terraform Cloud, and implement multi-cloud provisioning with robust CI/CD pipelines.

The role focuses on Azure SQL and AWS RDS, database performance tuning, DR/HA strategies, and cost optimization, while integrating Azure DevOps services for automated deployments and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on IaC experience with Terraform for AWS and Azure.
• 5+ years experience managing Azure SQL cloud ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of core AWS services and provisioning RDS via Terraform.
• Experience with Azure Database Administration & performance tuning.
• Experience with DR/HA strategies (Failover Groups, Geo-Replication).
• Hands-on with Terraform state management and remote backends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules for multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Terraform state and backends (Terraform Cloud).
• Develop multi-stage YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Implement deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling updates).
• Configure and optimize Azure SQL databases and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
• Ensure security, scalability, and cost optimization across cloud environments.

Role : DevOps & Terraform Consultant

Location: Houston, TX

Contract

JD:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience writing production-grade Terraform modules for both AWS and Azure.
• Database Expertise: 5+ years of experience managing Azure SQL cloud ecosystems.
• AWS Competency: Solid understanding of core AWS services, especially AWS managed databases (RDS) and how to provision these IAC tool Terraform.
• Azure Database Administration & Performance Tuning
• Manage, maintain, and secure Azure SQL Databases, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Monitor database health, proactively troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and optimize complex queries, indexes, and execution plans.
• Implement and test robust database backup, disaster recovery (DR), and high-availability (HA) strategies (e.g., Failover Groups, Geo-Replication)
• New Database seutp and configuration in Azure SQL.
• Cost Optimazation in Azure SQL.
• Azure Devope & CI/CD Integration:
• Azure DevOps Services & Pipelines author multi-stage YAML pipelines, build/release templates, gated builds, and pipeline variables.
• Hands-on with Terraform modular design, state management, and remote backends (Terraform Cloud).
• Release Management & Deployment Strategies blue/green, canary, rolling updates, feature flags, rollback planning.
• Experience with Azure Boards, tasks etc.
• Experience with managing code repository in Hashicorp Cloud.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform):
• Design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure components on AWS and Azure using Terraform as the primary IaC tool.
• Ensure proper Terraform state-file management, backend configuration, and module reusability across multi-cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and management processes.
• Ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, and reliable.
