Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a hands-on Technical DevOps Manager to lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. This role blends technical depth with people leadership to drive automation, reliability, and operational excellence across cloud and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading DevOps, cloud infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
• Hands-on Terraform and infrastructure automation required.
• Strong AWS experience ( networking, compute, storage, IAM ).
• Production Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or Jenkins.
• Linux administration, patch management, automation.
• Scripting in Python or Bash.
• Container and cloud security best practices.
• Configuration management and deployment with Helm.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Technical DevOps Manager to lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This individual will combine deep technical expertise with people leadership, helping drive operational excellence, automation, reliability, and continuous improvement across cloud and containerized environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Develop and improve automated CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Manage and scale Kubernetes environments supporting containerized applications.
• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including identity management, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and network security.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of production and internal platforms.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Develop and oversee patch management processes for Linux-based systems and containerized workloads.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to DevOps and Infrastructure team members.
• Support deployment activities, production operations, incident response, and platform health initiatives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform operations.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support career growth and technical excellence.
• Manage performance, priorities, and team development activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering leadership roles.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including networking, compute, storage, and identity management.
• Production experience managing Kubernetes environments, preferably EKS.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, troubleshooting, and architecture.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
• Experience with Linux administration, patch management, and automation.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience implementing container and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with configuration management and deployment tools such as Helm.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKS.
• Experience with CDN technologies and application delivery optimization.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
