Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a DevOps / Systems Engineer to join the Cloud Automation Advancements Team in Chantilly, VA. This role requires an active Top Secret security clearance and involves standing up and maintaining Windows servers in cloud environments while deploying and maintaining custom code, COTS, and GOTS.

You will work in a fast-moving cloud automation environment, collaborating with leadership to implement a next-generation desktop and web-based production and dissemination

Qualifications

• Active TS security clearance required.
• DoD 8570-compliant certification required (e.g., Security+).
• Experience in cloud environments and Windows server administration preferred.

Overview

North Point Technology is hiring a DevOps / Systems Engineer on our Cloud Automation Advancements Team. This job requires an active TS security clearance; please apply only if you have one. The role involves standing up and maintaining Windows servers in cloud environments and deploying and maintaining custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments.

Responsibilities

The qualified candidate must have an active TS security clearance and will work with technical and program management leadership to implement a next‑generation desktop and web‑based production and dissemination system. The candidate will thrive in a fast‑moving cloud automation environment and build reliable, innovative systems in support of the mission.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems
• System design and architecture across hardware, software, and networking
• Working knowledge of custom code development and code reviews
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflows
• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with GitLab functionality, error codes, and scripting
• Experience with RedHat OpenShift
• Experience developing web applications with Python

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies
• Experience using AWS services and technologies (CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS)
• Experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, load balancing, autoscaling)
• Experience troubleshooting, configuring, and deploying Docker containers
• Experience writing, maintaining, and documenting architecture diagrams
• Experience with team collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
• Microsoft and/or AWS certifications

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI post‑hire
• DoD 8570‑compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
