Job summary

Esri is seeking a talented systems engineer to support public cloud and advance DevSecOps practices. The role involves automating workflows, configuring containerized workloads, and collaborating across teams to enhance enterprise infrastructure across cloud providers.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in infrastructure automation, strong Linux, and experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Kubernetes. The position offers on-call support and growth opportunities at Esri.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, focused on infrastructure management and automation.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef).
  • Ability to write code in Python/PowerShell for infrastructure scripting.
  • Strong understanding of build/automation systems, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Git.
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Ability to automate self-service workflows.
  • Understanding/experience of cloud and web security is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related STEM field

  • Perform day-to-day support of the applications covering deployment, patching and general administration
  • Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis
  • Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support

Responsibilities


  • Design, implement, and maintain operational components in public clouds, such as AWS, Azure as well as private cloud

Recommended Qualifications


  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana

  • Previous experience with cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation

  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines and libraries

  • Working experience with Linux containers (Docker) and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes

  • Previous experience supporting mission-critical distributed systems

  • Ability to share your expertise through documentation and mentorship

  • Passionate about creating workflows that help produce a great self-service developer experience

  • Good problem-solving skills and passion to learn, explore new technologies

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.


A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is: $70,304 USD - $122,720 USD
