Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (Java DevOps Administrator) for the SAP Technology team in the Austin metro area.

You will design, deploy, and operate scalable SAP landscapes, focusing on reliability, performance, and lifecycle management across on-prem and cloud environments. You will build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Kubernetes, collaborate with QA, security, and development teams, and participate in on-call rotations while delivering

Qualifications

5 years of experience in DevOps/SRE, build/release/deployment automation.
5 years of experience in improving CI/CD tools, processes and procedures as required.
5 years of experience in designing and building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
5 years of experience in Spark, Kafka, Zookeeper, Redis and other in‑memory technologies is an added advantage.
5 years of experience in Oracle database and PL/SQL is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

Design and implement new software to streamline manual operations wherever required.
Maintain Linux and other types of systems on-premise and in the cloud such as AWS and GCP.
Triage production issues along with other dev, infra, and production support team members.
Conduct root cause analysis of critical issues in large-scale distributed systems.
Enable zero-downtime deployment process through the use of continuous delivery practices, rapidly releasing features, etc.
Work with QA, security, and development teams to craft solutions.
Develop self-service tools to enhance developer productivity for application management as needed.
Actively analyze and handle issues on platforms before they impact end-users.
Be a key player in improving operational maturity by producing long-term fixes from issues identified and enabling the team accordingly.
Participate in after-hours on-call rotation schedule.
Effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
Be a self-motivated, completely hands-on, dynamic and detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background.
