Job summary

Esri is seeking a mid-level DevOps/Platform Engineer to build and support CI/CD pipelines and automation for mission-critical software in St. Louis. You will work with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, Python, and Infrastructure as Code to enable secure software delivery.

Relocation assistance is available to join Esri in St. Louis, MO, with exposure to SBOM and vulnerability scanning and cloud automation across AWS/Azure platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, DevOps, GIS, or STEM field.
• 2+ years professional DevOps, CI/CD, or platform automation.
• Experience with YAML-based pipelines and infrastructure definitions.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD pipeline engineering using modern tooling.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Develop Docker-based build environments and Python automation.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Manage build and artifact infrastructure and SBOM/vulnerability scanning.
• Incorporate DevSecOps practices and cloud automation.

Overview

Build the Platforms that help Mission Critical Software Ship Securely and Reliably.

Join Esri`s Professional Services organization and help engineer the CI/CD platforms, automation and infrastructure supporting secure software delivery. You`ll build modern developer tooling and delivery pipelines using technologies such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, Python and Infrastructure as Code while supporting mission critical environments.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the St. Louis, MO area for this position.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional DevOps, CI/CD, or platform automation


• Hands on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines, or similar)


• Experience working with YAML-based pipeline configurations and infrastructure definitions


• Exposure to automation and scripting (Python and/or JavaScript preferred)


• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, AWS CDK, Terraform or similar IaC frameworks


• Ability to write and optimize Docker files and support container-based deployments


• Understanding of artifact management, dependency management, and secure build practices


• Familiarity with SBOM tools and artifact signing concepts


• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) especially compute services and storage services (S3, Blob Storage)


• US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility


• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, DevOps, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

• Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, DevOps, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Stem related field


• Experience automating backend systems and operational workflows


• Familiarity with release engineering and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, etc.)


• Experience integrating security scanning into pipelines (SAST/DAST, container scanning)


• Exposure to Kubernetes-based delivery environments


• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure development pipelines


• CompTIA Security + certification


• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is$97,240-$162,240 USD
