Job summary

OpenTalent is hiring a DevOps and platform engineer to join our Application Observability team within the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department. The role focuses on defining monitoring, alerting, and performance improvements across the organisation.

You will collaborate with Platform and Observability Backend teams on enhancements and Kubernetes-based projects, including Grafana migrations to AWS and improving service deployments with Git workflows and ArgoCD.

Qualifications

• Software engineer with a strong background in DevOps and platform engineering.
• 3+ years of experience as Infrastructure Engineer or in the SRE domain.
• Proven ownership in defining strategies, deploying, monitoring and implementing changes.
• Strong sense of ownership with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Hands-on experience with server-side technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS or OpenShift.
• Expertise in observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, tracing tools and OpenTelemetry.
• Upper-Intermediate English skills.
• ASAP start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defining and refining monitoring and alerting rules, both for the team and organisation-wide.
• Work together with other teams (Platform and Observability Backend) to enhance performance and fulfil user stories.
• Grafana migration from on-premises data centres to AWS by planning, defining requirements, supervising and implementing
• Improving the deployment of services using Git workflows and ArgoCD
• Proposing and validating performance and user experience improvements for team services
• Addressing issues, implementing preventive measures and managing postmortems and related improvement tasks
• Analysing performance, identifying anomalies and defining, documenting and implementing corrective measures
• Ensuring compliance with the SLA
