Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced DevOps/Platform Engineer to deploy and manage API and AI gateway solutions in Minneapolis, MN on site.

You will build gateway workloads with Kubernetes, set up CI/CD pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable deployments using Helm, Terraform, and GitOps practices. You will work with AWS/EKS, API security measures, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with Kubernetes deployments and API gateways.
• Experience with AWS EKS and Terraform.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS and API security.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support API and AI gateway solutions, including MCP server and tool integrations.
• Build and manage gateway workloads on Kubernetes, including EKS or similar platforms.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, Terraform, and GitOps deployment processes.
• Configure ingress, services, load balancers, TLS, certificates, routing, authentication, rate limits, and gateway policies.
• Define reusable gateway patterns and help developers follow API, AI, security, and deployment standards.
• Perform design reviews, troubleshooting, upgrades, monitoring, incident support, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, network, security, and architecture teams.

Immediate need for a talented DevOps/Platform Engineer (Kubernetes/ API & AI Gateway). This is a 04+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Minneapolis, MN(Onsite).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and support API and AI gateway solutions, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and tool integrations.
• Build and manage gateway workloads on Kubernetes, including EKS or similar platforms.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, Terraform, and GitOps deployment processes.
• Configure ingress, services, load balancers, TLS, certificates, routing, authentication, rate limits, and gateway policies.
• Define reusable gateway patterns and help developers follow API, AI, security, and deployment standards.
• Perform design reviews, troubleshooting, upgrades, monitoring, incident support, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, network, security, and architecture teams.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Key Skills; Kubernetes, API Gateway, AWS/EKS, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD, API security, infrastructure with Terraform, deploy through GitOps/Argo CD, monitor with Prometheus/Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways, ingress gateways, or service proxy technologies.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including deployments, services, ingress or Gateway API, secrets, and networking.
• DevOps experience with Git, CI/CD, Helm, Terraform, and deployment automation.
• Experience with AWS and EKS; Azure APIM experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, TLS, mTLS, and API security.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and developer-support skills.
• Model Context Protocol (MCP), including MCP servers, clients, tools, authentication, security, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Istio, Envoy, Prometheus, Grafana, Client, or similar technologies.
• AI/LLM gateway governance and MCP server integration.
