A technology solutions provider in Maryland is seeking a Systems Engineer to enhance HPC systems' reliability and scalability. You will develop metrics and monitoring solutions while automating tasks using Bash and Python. The ideal candidate will have a Top Secret Clearance and experience in Linux environments. Qualifications

Keep mission HPC systems reliable, fast, and scalable. You will build a distributed metrics and monitoring solution that operators trust. You will turn noisy system data into clear, actionable insight.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
  • Design and develop metrics and monitoring for HPC infrastructure.
  • Automate manual tasks with Bash and Python.
  • Ingest, process, and visualize logs and metrics.
  • Interface with log tools, Syslog ng and rsyslog.
  • Work with message brokers, Kafka.
  • Build and improve CI and CD pipelines in GitLab CI.
  • Write Ansible playbooks for repeatable provisioning.
  • Troubleshoot in Linux. Ship fixes with clean Git practices.
  • Partner with platform, security, and app teams to meet SLOs.
  • Document runbooks and dashboards. Share what good looks like.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active, we do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen, we cannot sponsor visas.
  • Experience and Education, SWE 2:
    • Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 3 years as a Software Engineer, or
    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with 5 years as a Software Engineer, or
    • 7 years as a Software Engineer on work of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00

The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. This range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
