Job summary

Artera Technologies, LLC is seeking DevOps Engineers to join our Maryland-based teams supporting intelligence-focused systems. You will work on Linux-based platforms, automate with Bash and Python, and manage containers with Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities include compliance with STE/STN and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure for mission-critical data. The roles require a bachelor’s degree and 3–6 years of DevOps experience, with TS/SCI security clearance being a key consideration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3-6 years of DevOps experience on similar programs.
• Experience with Linux, scripting in Bash or Python, and supporting Linux-based stacks.
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in Linux environments.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with IaC and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI) and basic SRE concepts.
• Experience with Linux cluster/node monitoring and Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence).
• Experience with Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Linux DevOps engineering; scripting with Bash/Python; Kubernetes & Ansible-based deployments.
• STE/STN compliance duties; ensure tools stay compliant with evolving requirements.
• Improve contract security posture; enable analysts to navigate the tool ecosystem.
• Provide cross-contract and partner support with IC community when tools are used beyond NSA.

DEVOPS ENGINEERS

Job Type: Full Time
Level: Mid, Senior, Principal
Location: Maryland (Annapolis Junction / Fort Meade area)
Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Appropriate Agency Polygraph
Artera Technologies, LLC’s Cloud and DevOps engineering teams develop tools and methods to maximize application, software, and infrastructure resources. We build superior solutions to optimize and support our clients’ large datasets.

Tasking:

• Linux DevOps engineering; scripting with Bash/Python; requires Kubernetes experience and Ansible/Puppet knowledge.
• STE/STN compliance of their supported systems; execute and implement solutions to ensure all supported tools remain compliant with STE/STN requirements as they evolve over time.
• Bring consistency to contract’s support and security posture, allowing analysts to navigate the vast ecosystem of analytic capability to accomplish mission.
• Provide support across contract and partners with the IC community when tools support users outside NSA.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing and maintaining scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters on bare metal in a Linux environment
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) concepts, principles and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications
• Experience with Linux cluster/node monitoring tools
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience with Git Version Control System

General Qualifications:

• DevOps Engineer Level 1 requires a bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, and 3-6 years of experience as a DevOps engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• DevOps Engineer Level 2 requires a bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, and 6-8 years of experience as a DevOps engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• DevOps Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, and 8+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Five (5) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu a bachelor’s degree on some contracts.
