District Partners is supporting a private equity-backed technology company in the search for a DevOps Manager to lead platform infrastructure modernization and automation efforts.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to manage a growing team, shape deployment strategy, and streamline how critical systems are delivered and maintained. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and compliance—building the systems that make product delivery faster, more reliable, and scalable across a complex environment.
- Fully remote: Candidates based in Northern Indiana or Central Texas (e.g., South Bend, Fort Wayne, Waco, Austin) are encouraged to apply for optional on-site collaboration—but it's not required.
Why This Role Matters:
- You’ll build the backbone of delivery – This team owns the CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, observability, and system reliability at scale.
- No red tape, just impact – The company is PE-backed, lean, and growth-focused. Your decisions shape how work gets done across the entire engineering org.
- Security + speed – This isn’t a startup environment. You’ll lead efforts that directly affect compliance, performance, and uptime for live customer environments.
- Mentor and scale a great team – You’ll develop and empower a team of experienced DevOps engineers—while still getting into the details when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor platform performance and drive improvements in availability, scalability, and recovery time
- Standardize configuration management in a single repository and implement an “infrastructure-as-code” philosophy
- Own and improve automation pipelines for ephemeral environments, CI/CD workflows, and production releases
- Create an automation framework to support near-instant rolling deployments after QA sign-off
- Drive DORA metric adoption and reporting across environments
Mentor & Build the Team
- Lead a team of DevOps engineers focused on infrastructure, deployment, and operational reliability
- Set technical standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure 90%+ of recurring work is automated—freeing the team up for high-impact, high-detail work
- Collaborate across Dev, QA, Security, and Operations teams to ensure safe, fast, and consistent delivery
Qualifications:
- 2+ years managing a DevOps or infrastructure team
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab, Ansible, and Terraform
- Experience with centralized config management and infrastructure automation
- Familiarity with DORA metrics and KPI-driven delivery
- Strong mentorship skills and a willingness to work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team
- Bonus: experience working in regulated environments or fintech
- Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
- 401(k) with employer match
- Generous PTO, paid holidays, and your birthday off
- Employee referral bonus program
- Remote-first team with quarterly virtual events and optional in-person collaboration
