Job summary

NorthHill Technology Resources seeks a DevOps Engineer in Springfield, VA to design and maintain DecSecOps architecture for federal programs. You will implement CI/CD pipelines across Dev, Staging and Production, manage infrastructure as code, and ensure security compliance.

A TS/SCI clearance is required and sponsorship for CI Polygraph may be provided within the first year. You will work on OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, leverage Helm charts, and collaborate with software teams to deploy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or related field, or 3 additional years of IT experience.
• 5-8+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift; familiarity with AWS.
• Experience with Helm charts and multi-environment deployments across security domains.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/CircleCI familiarity).
• Knowledge of containers, monitoring, logging, networking and security.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for tooling; ability to contribute code changes.

Responsibilities

DEVOPS ENGINEER (TS/SCI Clearance required)

NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for aDevOps Engineerto support a Federal Program inSpringfield, VA.This is a direct-hire role with our client, a fast-growing Federal Integrator.An active TS/SCI Clearance is required, will sponsor for CI Polygraph within first year.
DevOps Engineer

Designs, defines, and maintains the DecSecOps architecture for new and existing software applications and systems. Has the ability to both write clean, working code and has commanding knowledge of traditional operations tasks. Coordinates system development with software developers to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing. Manages and documents system configurations. Assists with deployment of new product features.

Job Duties:

• Configure CI/CD for multiple web applications
  • Take source code, dependencies to perform application builds
  • Perform automated testing and security scans
  • Deploy to multiple environments (Dev, Staging, Operations)
  • Create and maintain pipelines to multiple environments across multiple security enclaves (low to high development)
• Responsible for Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
  • Author helm charts to deploy resources to OpenShift platforms
• Manage and document system security, by performing software updates in response to scan findings, document system, architecture to demonstrate security compliance

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Skills/Qualifications:

Required:

• 5-8+ years of experience
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or 3 additional years of experience in information technology
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems
• Ability to manage networking for web applications by understanding PCP/IP and DNS
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and OpenShift, with ideal knowledge of AWS
• Experience creating and modifying Helm charts and configuring deployments to multi-environments (e.g., dev, stage, prod)across multiple security domains
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (one or more of Terraform, Cloud formation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
• Experience with Gitlab and Gitlab CI/CD pipelines (knowledge of Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar will be considered)
• Knowledge of containerization, monitoring & logging, and network & security
• Experience deploying and managing databases, interacting with databases via SQL and ORMs
• Experiencing monitoring and updating tokens
• Comfortable using Python and BASH to create systems tooling
• Ability to contribute code updates/tweaks to existing code repositories
• Experience with integrating security components with applications and databases
• TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph

Desired

• Experience with software system design, able to create application architecture for new applications
• Familiarity with Configuration Management and Request for Change process for review and assessment
• Experience with delivery of an integrated solution using Agile software delivery techniques
• Technical certification Network +, Security +, Oracle or specializing in Software Development, or Cloud Computing.
• Experience in System Engineering and project/program management.
• Knowledge and/or experience with NGA enterprise products (including NGA CORE tools; ie Wormhole)
