About The Role

The Senior DevOps Engineer at Arbitration Forums, Inc. plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation systems that underpin the company’s IT operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in DevOps practices, platform engineering, security, and systems support.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead initiatives to optimize deployment pipelines, enhance system reliability, and ensure security compliance across all environments. Collaborating closely with development, QA, IT operations, and security teams, the successful candidate will drive automation efforts, improve system performance, and support the company’s mission of delivering secure and efficient arbitration services. This role reports directly to the DevOps Manager and involves leadership responsibilities in project management and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps engineering
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems and system administration
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
• Knowledge of Java-based application servers (Spring Boot, JBoss, Tomcat)
• Experience with web servers including Apache and NGINX
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of application networking concepts including load balancing and TCP/IP
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Ansible
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of security principles, encryption, and digital certificates
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Ruby
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault and application performance monitoring systems
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members

Responsibilities

• Lead the support and maintenance of production systems, ensuring high availability and performance
• Respond swiftly to production issues, conduct in-depth troubleshooting, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
• Coordinate system monitoring activities and optimize system stability and performance through planned changes
• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
• Provide technical support to non-production environments including development, QA, and UAT testing systems
• Design, develop, and manage continuous delivery pipelines for multiple environments, ensuring seamless software deployment
• Oversee version control repositories and manage code build and deployment processes
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Lead infrastructure automation initiatives, including system provisioning, configuration management, and deployment automation
• Manage Linux system patching, security updates, and vulnerability mitigation efforts
• Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies
• Design and optimize system architectures, including load balancing, network configurations, and performance tuning
• Coordinate with security and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Monitor and analyze system performance, utilizing tools like Dynatrace, to identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into system health and deployment metrics
