Job summary

Apple Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join its IS&T Retail Engineering Apps & Services team.

You will shape the build, delivery, and deployment pipelines for large-scale enterprise applications and help ensure highly available systems across global operations. You will automate build and deployment processes, collaborate with engineers, QA and project managers, and drive push-button deployments at scale with zero downtime using Kubernetes and cloud

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Git, and automated build systems such as Jenkins and Gradle.
• Programming experience in Java, GoLang or Python.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate technology options/feasibility and define the build, delivery, and deployment pipeline for applications.
• Provide leadership in implementing a secure, robust and highly available DevOps pipeline.
• Automate build & deployment processes.
• Work closely with engineers, QA, project managers throughout the software lifecycle in optimally delivering outstanding, large scale systems.
• Implement push button deployment at scale with zero downtime.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 3+ years experience
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Git, and automated build systems such as Jenkins and
• Gradle
• Highly skilled at developing and debugging in Java, GoLang or Python
• Hands-on experience with Public Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud

Preferred Qualifications

• Proactive and solution-oriented, keen to automate work by building tools and web
• applications with REST, JSON, or similar protocols
• Experience managing large-scale production infrastructure, including clusters of 100s–
• 1000s of machines and zero-downtime deployments.
• Familiarity with Linux internals, filesystems, and networking, plus web servers and load
• balancers (Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, Envoy)
• Experience managing large-scale production infrastructure, including clusters of 100s–

• Skilled at troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving system and performance issues,
• using tools like Splunk for monitoring and investigation
• Working knowledge of CVEs, OWASP, and cloud security/compliance.
