Job summary

Sovos is seeking a DevOps Engineer II to scale cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that power our global tax compliance platform. You will operate at the intersection of development and operations to automate, optimize, and resolve issues that affect software delivery worldwide.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes, and Terraform in production environments.
• Scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and maintaining deployment processes.
• Able to troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues efficiently.
• Experience with Azure cloud and designing scalable, resilient systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows to accelerate ops tasks.
• Background check and drug test may be required.

The Role

At Sovos, we're building infrastructure that powers global tax compliance at scale. As a DevOps Engineer II, you'll manage and scale cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that keep our systems reliable, efficient, and always evolving. You'll work at the intersection of development and operations to automate, optimize, and solve problems that directly impact how we deliver software to customers around the world.

More Specifically, You Will

• Build and manage auto-scalable Docker Swarm or Kubernetes clusters using Terraform for infrastructure as code, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that enable continuous integration and delivery across development and production environments.
• Develop deployment scripts, health checks, alerts, and automation workflows that keep infrastructure and applications running smoothly.
• Manage configuration and settings for applications and infrastructure, ensuring consistency and reliability across environments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to streamline deployment processes and resolve release-related issues efficiently.
• Document technical processes, configurations, and deployment workflows to enable knowledge sharing and onboarding.

What You Bring to Sovos

• You've built solid hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes, and Terraform in production environments.
• You're comfortable scripting and automating tasks using languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• You understand CI/CD principles and have created or maintained deployment pipelines that deliver software reliably and frequently.
• You're a skilled problem-solver who can troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues when issues arise.
• You have experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and understand how to design for scalability and resilience.
• You're comfortable working with AI-assisted workflows and tools that help accelerate infrastructure management and automation.
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
