Suvi Global Services, an Akima company, seeks a Jr. DevOps Engineer to support federal contracts. You will troubleshoot databases, manage IaC, and build cloud-native CI/CD pipelines in a security-conscious environment. Qualifications

• US Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of military active duty, or 5+ years relevant experience.
• Entry level Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fundamental understanding of DevSecOps and secure systems.
• Knowledge of cloud networking in AWS/Azure and data centers.
• Programming experience in JavaScript/Typescript and Bash.
• Familiarity with Linux and Kubernetes administration.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and cloud services (AWS RDS/Aurora).
• Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native tooling to build CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain IaC and instrument systems for actionable monitoring.
• Collaborate with clients and technical teams; provide recommendations on systems engineering.
• Support security practices and implement guidance like NIST 800-53 in cloud envs.
• Operate and troubleshoot DevOps tools (Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Git).
• Assist developers on stable and secure code delivery.

Suvi Global Services is looking for a talented Jr. DevOps Engineer to add to their dynamic team supporting highly visible federal contracts. This role supports and provides security monitoring and auditing. The DevOps Engineer will work directly with clients and technical teams to provide recommendations and assistance regarding systems engineering and development. This role also supports various projects as required. This is an on-site role with approximately 25% travel to contract locations within DMV. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance to Herndon, VA. Responsibilities * Troubleshoot MySQL (MariaDB) and Postgresql databases deployed with services like AWS RDS and Aurora, or Kubernetes Cloud Native Postgres.

• Cloud platform agnostic with a focus on AWS and Azure.
• Ensure software updates are correctly deployed.
• Manage and use the Git version control system.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Troubleshoot source code, identify, and correct errors using systems debugging tools.
• Ensure all systems have broad useful instrumentation in place and develop monitoring systems that provide actionable alerts based on those metrics.
• Make use of DevOps tools, such as Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Git to write tools that automate everything you are responsible for.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes and cloud centric CI/CD pipeline the use of containers.
• Support full application lifecycle development by advising developers on how to provide stable and secure code.
• Understanding of security best practices and ability to implement NIST 800-53 in Cloud environments.
• Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) is a plus.
• Familiar with traditional virtualization platforms.

Qualifications

• Integrate traditional deployments with serverless platforms such as the Microsoft Power Platform. Qualifications * US Citizenship required with an ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance. * Bachelor's degree, 4+ years of military active duty, or 5+ years relevant experience in a technical or analytical field.
• Entry level Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
• Superb written and oral communication skills.
• Base level understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and how to build and operate reliable systems.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals in the cloud and datacenter.
• JavaScript/Typescript, Bash, and general programming experience.
• Knowledge of AWS including EKS, Advanced networking, Organizations, Control Tower, and associated services.
• Ability to obtain AWS associate level certification, and Kubernetes developer (CKAD) or administrator (CKA) within 12 months.
• Intro understanding of HTTP performance and security.
• Aware of Linux and Kubernetes administration and services.

Desired Qualifications

• Networking tools such as AWS transit gateway and Fortinet products.
• Knowledge and certification of other cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure, or private platforms such as OpenShift.
• Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash experience.
