Job summary

Forte Group seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own day-to-day engineering practices, reviews, and AI-assisted workflow integration. You will manage cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, and partner with software teams to deliver reliable, scalable platforms in a remote-first environment.

You will drive automation using Kubernetes (GKE), GCP, and Terraform, while building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or Google Cloud Build and scripting with Python or Bash.

Qualifications

• Operate production workloads on Kubernetes (GKE) including Jobs, Services, ingress, and deployment tooling.
• Manage GCP infrastructure with Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions and VPC networking.
• Architect and use Terraform to automate and safely manage cloud environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or Google Cloud Build; script in Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, observability, and performance of production workloads with comprehensive monitoring, logging, and incident triage.

In this role, you will join an established cloud engineering environment at Forte, collaborating across distributed international teams to deliver high-performance digital platforms. You will support enterprise-grade analytics, asset valuation, and forecasting systems in the energy domain, ensuring robust reliability, automated infrastructure delivery, and continuous uptime for mission-critical operations.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer,

You will contribute to its success by taking complete ownership of day-to-day engineering practices, driving meticulous pull request reviews, and collaborating seamlessly across cross-functional product teams. You will pragmatically integrate AI tooling into daily workflows to optimize prompts and automation while maintaining strict quality verification across every release.

• Architect, provision, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure using modern Infrastructure as Code practices and continuous delivery automation.
• Own the reliability, observability, and performance of production workloads by engineering comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident triage mechanisms.
• Partner directly with software engineering teams to streamline the development lifecycle, standardize deployment patterns, and optimize operational cost and resource utilization.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Extensive hands‑on experience running production workloads on Kubernetes (GKE), including the configuration and maintenance of Jobs, Services, ingress controllers, and associated deployment tooling.
• Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure management, leveraging core services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and VPC networking configurations.
• Practical proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to design, automate, and safely manage cloud environments.
• Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or Google Cloud Build, paired with scripting proficiency in Python or Bash.

Nice to Have Skills

• Practical exposure to configuring and managing distributed streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka for real-time analytics workloads.
• Familiarity with enterprise observability stacks, including Datadog, Grafana, or Google Cloud Monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud security hardening, IAM policy design, and automated vulnerability management within containerized ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering discipline with demonstrated experience navigating structured SDLC practices, code reviews, pull requests, and ticketing workflows.
• Pragmatic approach to adopting AI-assisted workflows to accelerate automation and tooling efficiency with thorough independent verification.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills to collaborate effectively with distributed, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
