Job summary

Universal Background Screening is seeking a DevOps Engineer to maintain scalable, secure delivery pipelines across our platform ecosystem. You will automate deployments, manage cloud infrastructure, and harden environments against security threats.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in DevOps or platform engineering, strong AWS experience, and hands-on CI/CD expertise with Docker/Kubernetes and IaC tooling. Join a team focused on reliability, security, and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on DevOps or platform engineering experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Foundational understanding of information security principles, network security, and secure configuration practices.
• Familiarity with secrets management, certificate lifecycle management, and access control frameworks.
• Experience with logging and observability platforms (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS (or Azure).
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and monitoring.
• Support containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS.
• Monitor system health, set up alerting, and assist in incident response.
• Collaborate with development and QA to improve reliability and deployment frequency.
• Apply security best practices across cloud environments and IAM policies.
• Integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning).
• Assist in security reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
