Job summary

Actalent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design and improve complex cloud operations for microservice-based platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in mobility, safety, and convenience services.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with modern cloud, automation, and CI/CD technologies, including Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and multi-cloud pipelines in a hybrid Plano environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production experience as a DevOps Engineer or Software Engineer
• Strong DevOps expertise with complex environments
• Experience with Terraform to create, modify, and manage infrastructure configurations
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes to build, package, and deploy container images
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud platforms and cost optimization
• Experience with cloud architecture and design patterns for scalable solutions
• Scripting with Python or similar to automate workflows and APIs
• Version control with branching and merging workflows
• Knowledge of security policies and secure architecture
• Experience with monitoring and analytics to diagnose distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives by defining project objectives, schedules, cost estimates, forecasting and resource allocation
• Write, maintain, and refine automation scripts for readability and efficiency
• Troubleshoot automation scripts and multi-point integrations
• Lead or participate in code reviews to improve quality
• Write clean and reusable code to solve complex problems and review for best practices
• Design patterns and platform capabilities for efficient development and delivery
• Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across environments
• Manage virtual servers, containers, and orchestration platforms
• Develop automation across environments affecting key SLAs and KPIs
• Implement security measures across pipelines and infrastructure
• Lead troubleshooting of complex system issues using logs and performance data
• Define branching strategies to support parallel development and integration
• Review system performance metrics and optimize speed and reliability
• Manage multi-region/multi-cloud networking including zero trust networks
• Plan canary deployments for safe rollouts
• Conduct chaos engineering focused on networking for resilience
• Plan network redundancy and disaster recovery
• Lead technical discussions and mentorship for DevOps teams
• Contribute to right-sizing and autoscaling strategies for cost optimization
• Support one-click deployments and automated releases using Terraform and other tools
• Participate in on-call rotation for higher-level support
