A banking employer is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Middletown, CT. The preferred candidate will be able to come onsite, however they are open to remote for the right resource. This company has experienced significant growth in recent years and has expanded its IT organization and support capabilities. They are in the early stages of their cloud journey to migrate to Microsoft Azure, and are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help lay the groundwork. The DevOps Engineer will work with the Azure Cloud Engineering Lead to create the foundation necessary for migrating assets to the cloud. Responsibilities include designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, with a strong focus on pipeline automation (build, release, multi-stage, and approvals). They will integrate third-party tools such as SonarQube or security tools into the CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong source control management expertise, particularly with Git, including branch strategies, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution. The Engineer will utilize Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for provisioning, and create Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. They will be involved in configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet) and containerization/orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes). Additional duties may include security and compliance, monitoring and logging, scripting and automation, and networking and storage. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills are essential.
