DevOps Engineer/AWS

GDIT is seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide Cloud Engineering services for an exciting contract. The engineer will collaborate with cloud architects and engineers to design, build, and automate AWS services, focusing on managing and securing AWS accounts. They will contribute to automating infrastructure management tasks using Python and AWS CDK.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with DevOps/SecOps Engineers to automate infrastructure workflows
• Develop automation solutions using Python, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation
• Lead development of features for managing a multi-account environment
• Expand existing infrastructure automation
• Modernize and migrate infrastructure, including refactoring and re-architecting components, developing CI/CD pipelines
• Document systems and architecture for automation projects
• Contribute to the team’s community of practice

Key Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or Permanent Resident
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools
• Proven experience in designing end-to-end automation workflows
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Familiarity with AWS solutions like CDK, CodePipeline, Lambda
• Experience managing multi-account AWS environments
• At least 3 years of AWS experience in a solutions delivery role
• Over 5 years of total IT development experience
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation

Desired Skills:

• 3+ years in a DevSecOps/DevOps environment using AWS services
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible
• Knowledge of modern agile software development
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
