Job summary

DataAnnotation seeks software engineers to advance AI development as part of a growing team of 100,000+ professionals. You’ll tackle tasks with state-of-the-art AI models, build applications, and refine AI solutions from home on a flexible schedule.

Contributors may work part-time or as primary focus projects, with hourly pay starting at 50–100+ USD per hour. Remote work is supported, with projects chosen to fit your availability.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python / JavaScript / TypeScript / Java).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: problem-solving, debugging, and code review.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• A bachelor's degree (completed or in progress).
• Previous software engineer or developer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and work with coding environments, unit tests, and verifiers.
• Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems.
• Write clear, high-quality code and technical explanations.
• Evaluate model trajectories for accuracy, performance, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs and opportunities for improvement in AI-generated solutions.
• Provide structured feedback that helps improve future AI models.

You’ll work closely with state-of-the-art AI models on programming tasks such as creating and solving complex coding problems, building applications with rich functionality, debugging and improving code, and synthesizing insights through data analysis and visualization. Your work directly contributes to refining intelligent systems that learn, adapt, and evolve.

Some contributors fit this work alongside a full-time role, while others make it their primary focus, choosing projects and schedules that align with their availability and goals.

• Previous experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer, Full-Stack Engineer, Front-End Engineer, Back-End Engineer, or similar technical role is preferred.
