Wyetech, LLC is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team in Ft. Belvoir, VA. You will help build and automate cloud infrastructure for federal government customers, emphasizing reliability, monitoring, and scalability.

Requirements include 5+ years in DevOps or a related field, strong Kubernetes/AWS skills, and DoD 8570 Security+ or willingness to obtain. This on-site role may involve travel and customer-site work.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast‑paced development team in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The role focuses on implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability, monitoring, and scalability of our services for federal government customers.

United States citizenship and a TS/SCI security clearance with an appropriate polygraph are required.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support development and deployment of non‑cloud (edge) infrastructure on on‑premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary.
• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, continuously exploring new ways to improve infrastructure.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR 3 years of experience with a master’s degree; OR high school diploma with 9 years of experience.
• Experience and knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management of infrastructure.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
• Comfortable working in a terminal‑based environment.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (e.g., Security+) or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Ability to work on the customer site in Ft. Belvoir, VA five days a week and occasionally travel.
• Willingness and ability to assist with opening/closing the workspace during regular business hours as needed.

Additional Technical Skills

• Experience with big‑data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, and Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, AWS services such as SNS, SQS, and Diode.
