Description

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in backend engineering, specializing in application deployment, automated continuous integration testing, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure the visibility of key metrics to inform developers\' decision-making processes.

Rate: $45 - $50 an hour

Note: This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to full-time employment after the contract duration. For W2 consultants, a benefits package is offered (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance).

Responsibilities
  • Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment. Share progress, seek assistance when needed, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Continuous Learning: Exhibit a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Technology Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills on existing and emerging agile best practices, relevant technologies, and security best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems like Git for collaborative development and managing codebase changes.
  • Terraform: Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure resources on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Go, and PowerShell.
  • Linux & System Administration: Strong understanding of file systems, process management, and performance tuning.
  • AWS Services: Familiarity with core AWS services, including AWS Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.
  • Database Management: Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
Experience Requirements
  • Required Experience: 5 years of experience with AWS, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Certification
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
