Job summary

Tetrad Digital Integrity (TDI) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a new Agile development team in the Washington, DC area. This onsite role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and involves architecting and delivering cutting-edge infrastructure for critical federal missions.

The engineer will implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible, manage Kafka and Elastic clusters, and ensure DoD STIG compliance while building robust observability and cost-optimized cloud

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Current Security+ or equivalent/higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline with 8–12 years of experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of experience.
• Experience developing software in an Agile environment and quickly learning new technologies.
• Ability to work in a distributed, fast-paced team and multi-task effectively.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Linux.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with a virtual team and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible and Bitbucket.
• Deploy, configure, test, and maintain Kafka and Elastic clusters in AWS.
• Integrate applications with the Elastic stack and meet DoD STIGs.
• Build centralized dashboards and observability for health, performance, security, and cloud spend.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and automation across environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Cloud, and App Engineering teams to enforce security in pipelines.
• Participate in daily scrums with a geographically distributed team.
• Develop automated tests with Ansible, Selenium, JMeter, JUnit, etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infra and system issues.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks.

TDI is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a brand-new Agile development team at the forefront of federal IT modernization, delivering real digital transformation where it matters most. This is a rare ground-floor opportunity to architect, build, and integrate cutting-edge infrastructure solutions in support of some of our nation's most sensitive and critical missions.

This is a fully onsite opportunity requiring a daily commute to the Washington, DC area. An active TS/SCI security clearance is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop automated CI/CD build/deployment pipelines using Jenkins (CloudBees), Artifactory, Kubernetes (OpenShift), Docker, Ansible and Bitbucket
• Assist with the deployment, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, updates/upgrades of Kafka and Elastic clusters and environments
• Configure applications to integrate network data into an Elastic (ELK) stack hosted in an AWS cloud environment
• Configure applications in accordance to meet DoD security standards, including DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Develop, and maintain centralized dashboards and observability solutions to monitor application health, performance, availability, security posture, infrastructure utilization, and cloud spend across environments
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and automation using metrics, logs, traces to improve incident detection, operational visibility, root cause analysis, and system reliability
• Implement cloud and infrastructure cost optimizations through resource utilization analysis, rightsizing, idle resource identification, storage and compute optimization, and FinOps best practices
• Manage enterprise certificate lifecycle operations, including certificate provisioning, renewal, rotation, expiration monitoring, and automation to ensure secure and uninterrupted service delivery
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Cloud, and Application Engineering teams to integrate security controls, compliance monitoring, automation, and operational standards into CI/CD pipelines and production environments
• Work with an Agile team, attend daily scrums and demonstrate working software while collaborating with a geographically distributed (remote) team
• Develop automated tests using Ansible, Selenium, JMeter, JUnit and/or other applicable tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure and system issues
• Proactively and independently identify, report, monitor and mitigate technical risks

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.Ability to pass additional customer suitability screening(s) prior to start
• Current Security+ or equivalent/higher
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, plus 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience developing software in an Agile environment, including the ability to quickly learn new technologies on a rapidly growing project
• Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and work in a geographically distributed team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Experience with distributed version control software such as Git and Bitbucket
• Experience developing software on a Linux platform
• Knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of Software Engineering
• Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Full software lifecycle experience (design, development, test, deployment), including deployment to a production environment
• Experience developing software in an Agile environment, including the ability to quickly learn new technologies on a rapidly growing project
• Software development experience with Python and Java and SQL, including integration experience with JSON/REST web services, as well as the parsing, generation and validation of JSON. Working knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience designing, developing and deploying software in a cloud environment (AWS is a plus)
• Experience designing, building and deploying DevOps pipelines with Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory and Ansible (or equivalent tools)
• Experience designing and implementing application deployment pipelines and developing software in a containerized environment with Kubernetes and Docker

PAY RANGE:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 - $190,000. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
