Job summary

Iperium in the United States seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to own the design, implementation and operation of our cloud platform. You’ll drive AWS infrastructure, Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and container runtimes while partnering with product teams to improve reliability and velocity.

You’ll mentor teammates, apply security controls, and contribute to runbooks and documentation, with on-call duties and a bias toward practical automation using Python and shell scripting.

Qualifications

Senior Platform Engineer (AWS and Terraform)

Iperium is recruiting a Senior Platform Engineer for a US software business building facilities-management software for organisations with large retail footprints. Its platform helps customers manage maintenance operations across their locations, making reliability and performance central to the engineering team’s work.

Joining a small platform team, you’ll help build the infrastructure, automation and standards that support the product and its developers. You’ll own projects from design through delivery, alongside production support and operational responsibilities.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using reusable Terraform modules.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Support containerised workloads running on EKS, Kubernetes and Fargate.
• Improve monitoring, dashboards and alerting across services.
• Apply security controls covering IAM, secrets and key management.
• Automate recurring work using Python and shell scripting.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in the on-call escalation rotation and support scheduled maintenance.

What you’ll bring

• At least five years’ experience in platform engineering, infrastructure or DevOps, including production support.
• Strong practical AWS knowledge and advanced Terraform skills, including module design, state management and safe infrastructure changes.
• Experience independently building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS container services and GitOps workflows.
• Practical knowledge of observability and infrastructure security.
• The ability to take ownership, explain technical decisions and work closely with other engineers.
• An AWS certification.

Experience with PostgreSQL, cloud cost optimisation, disaster recovery, AWS data infrastructure or AI services would also be useful. The team uses AI throughout its engineering workflows and is looking for someone comfortable applying it to automation, troubleshooting and documentation.
