Job summary

VeeRteq Solutions Inc. is hiring a DevOps Engineer to lead migrations from on-prem to cloud-native Kubernetes platforms. You will design IaC, build CI/CD pipelines, and optimize clusters for reliability, security, and scalability.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Architecture, Security, Development, Infrastructure, Data, and Operations teams to drive modernization and automation in a remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• Experience migrating applications and infrastructure from on-premises to cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments).
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with Docker containerization.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or equivalent automation tools.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, and release management.
• Proficiency in Git-based source control and DevOps workflows.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, ing, and operational support for production environments.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, identity management, and platform governance concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and supporting high-availability environments.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute migration of on-premises applications, infrastructure, and services to modern cloud-native and Kubernetes-based platforms, including assessment, containerization, deployment planning, cutover, and post-migration stabilization.
• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and automation frameworks to provision, configure, and manage scalable cloud environments in a repeatable and secure manner.
• Build, enhance, and support CI/CD pipelines that automate application, platform, and infrastructure deployments, ensuring reliability, consistency, and governance across environments.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes platforms and containerized workloads, including cluster administration, security, networking, scalability, high availability, and deployment automation.
• Implement monitoring, logging, ing, observability, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to improve platform performance, availability, and operational resilience.
• Provide production support, incident management, root cause analysis, release management, disaster recovery, and operational readiness support for critical enterprise platforms and business applications.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Development, Infrastructure, Data, and Operations teams to drive cloud modernization, platform standardization, automation adoption, security compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience in migrating applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments to cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments).
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or equivalent automation tools.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, and release management.
• Proficiency in Git-based source control and DevOps workflows.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, ing, and operational support for production environments.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, identity management, and platform governance concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and supporting high-availability environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes platform administration and cluster lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, vulnerability management, and security automation.
• Experience implementing SRE practices, observability frameworks, and reliability engineering principles.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps toolchains.
• Experience with disaster recovery, backup automation, and business continuity planning.
• Exposure to cloud modernization, application modernization, and microservices architectures.
• Experience working in Healthcare, HIPAA-regulated, or high-compliance environments.
• Relevant cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or DevOps certifications.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted DevOps tools, automation frameworks, or agent-based operational workflows.
