Our client, located in Washington, DC, is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a remote, direct or contract to hire opportunity.

Work is currently remote with potential plans to return to the office safely in the fall (still with remote potential).

NOTE: Due to client requirements, US Citizens only.

Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic DevOps Deployment Specialist to develop software applications/solutions to adhere to designs supporting external customers. You will develop a detailed functional and technical design, and test specifications. Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot application requests. Database administration and maintenance performance tuning of Cloud-based SQL platform databases. Resolves database problems. Helps design custom databases and applications.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, and engineering.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare.
• Experience with Redshift and Database administration.
• Experience monitoring, diagnosing, analyzing the root cause, and implementing preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence.
• A nimble approach to application builds and cloud deployments.
• Eager to provide technical guidance and education to team members and coworkers on DevOps best practices.
• A team player with excellent communication skills that is also comfortable working independently.
• Keeps in mind security while maintaining and developing infrastructure and tools. Always thinking of logs, monitors, and alerts.
• Relentless focus on automation and reproducibility. Able to accomplish that with increasingly complex tools (bash, Python, Ansible, etc).
• Have worked within HIPAA and other compliance specifications.
• Always the following advancement in cloud computing technologies and applications.
• Experience creating scalable infrastructure in a multi-account AWS, Azure

Preferred Skills

• B.A./B.S. undergraduate degree preferred.
