Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles with production experience.
• Strong production experience using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python).
• Advanced experience with core AWS services, networking, and container management (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with GitHub Actions and scripting in Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

Momnt is an expanding financial technology company specialising in embedded lending and point-of-need consumer financing based in Sandy Springs, GA. We are transforming how merchants provide financing to their customers with our embedded lending platform. Our platform delivers a seamless digital experience that makes financing simple, fast, and affordable, connecting high-quality lenders with merchants, primarily in the home improvement sector, to empower consumers to pay for the things they need.

Momnt is seeking a hands‑on Senior DevOps Engineer who can hit the ground running and operate with high autonomy. In this role, you will lead the evolution of our cloud infrastructure and deployment automation while actively collaborating with our software engineering teams to solve complex platform challenges. You will own our core systems end‑to‑end, drive modern infrastructure standards, and directly impact the velocity and reliability of our embedded lending platform.

Key Responsibilities as our DevOps Engineer, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK as our primary framework, establishing reusable construct libraries and multi‑account environment patterns.
• Manage core cloud architecture across EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, Route 53, VPC networking, RDS, and IAM.
• Evaluate and support future infrastructure initiatives utilizing Terraform as operational needs evolve.
• Partner closely with application developers to troubleshoot infrastructure issues, optimize local development workflows, and streamline service integration.
• Establish self‑service deployment patterns and shift‑left practices that make secure, reliable software delivery easy for engineering teams to adopt.
• Produce clear, actionable architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and developer documentation to accelerate cross‑team onboarding and execution.
• Architect, harden, and optimize continuous delivery pipelines using GitHub Actions to support rapid, zero‑downtime deployments.
• Embed automated security controls—including container scanning (Trivy), dependency checks, secrets detection, and SAST/DAST tooling—directly into CI/CD workflows without introducing unnecessary developer friction.
• Enforce least‑privilege access, manage key rotation, and maintain technical alignment with SOC 2 Type II and PCI‑DSS compliance requirements.
• Deepen platform visibility using Datadog for APM, centralized logging, custom dashboards, proactive alerting, and threat detection.
• Write clean, maintainable automation scripts in Python and Bash to handle vulnerability patching, operational tasks, and cloud management.
• Participate in system monitoring, lead post‑incident post‑mortems, and drive long‑term remediation strategies to eliminate recurring failure modes.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles, with a track record of independent execution in production environments.
• Must‑Have: Strong, direct production experience using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python).
• AWS & Containers: Advanced experience with core AWS services, networking, and container management using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• CI/CD & Scripting: Strong proficiency with GitHub Actions, along with hands‑on scripting abilities in Python and Bash.
• Observability & Security: Practical experience with Datadog and integrating security/compliance controls into pipelines.

Preferred Experience

• Hands‑on experience with Terraform.
• Background in fintech, payment processing, PCI‑DSS compliance, or SOC 2 environments.
