Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical government projects. You’ll deploy applications, configure software, manage servers and tools, and ensure performance and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly clearance, US citizenship, 5+ years of related experience, and hands-on experience with Linux, AWS/VMs, Docker/Docker Compose, Terraform, Ansible, Git, and GitLab CI/CD.

Qualifications

DEVOPS ENGINEER

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a DevOps Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission. You will play a crucial role in the DevOps engineering of a modernization effort to converge the customers authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools.

Responsibilities will include: deploying applications; installing and configuring complex software; managing network servers and technology tools; monitoring and maintaining the system for required levels of performance; and troubleshooting issues and outages.

Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly one week out of every 4-6 weeks). Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT/ Praxis Engineering. The DevOps Engineer must have:

Security clearance level: TS/SCI W/ Poly

US citizenship required

Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

Experience: 5+ years of related experience

Technical skills:

• Linux
• AWS and VMs
• Docker Swarm
• Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)
• Terraform scripting and VM provisioning
• Ansible scripting and development
• Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology
• Git

Desired Technical Skills:

• Bash scripting and development
• Elasticsearch maintenance and configuration
• Java / Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)
• HAProxy
• MongoDB
