Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a DevOps Engineer to transform technology into opportunities for mission-critical government projects. You will shape the modernization of authoring, dissemination, and supporting tools while growing your engineering career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• 15+ years of related experience.
• Strong DevOps background to deploy applications, install and configure complex software, manage network servers and tooling, monitor and troubleshoot performance and outages.

DEVOPS ENGINEER

As a DevOps Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. You will play a crucial role in engineering a modernization effort to converge our customer’s authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Education: Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.


• Experience: 15+ years of related experience


• Technical skills: A strong DevOps background will be needed to deploy applications, install and configure complex software, manage network servers and technology tools, monitor and maintain the system for required levels of performance and trouble shoot issues and outages.


• Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/Poly


• US citizenship required


• Candidates must have experience with: LinuxAWS, MASH, and VMsDocker SwarmDeployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)Terraform scripting and VM provisioningAnsible scripting and developmentThorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technologyGitDesired experience includes:Python scripting and developmentNiFi maintenance and configurationElasticsearch maintenance and configurationJava / Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)HAProxyMongoDB


• Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly 1 week out of every 4-6 weeks). Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked.
