Job summary

D&H Distributing is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure with Terraform or ARM templates, and manage Azure cloud services.

The role emphasizes security, observability, and scalable deployment practices across development, staging, and production environments. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in DevOps, strong Azure DevOps and cloud experience, Docker/Kubernetes, and proficiency with CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

3+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Azure cloud services.
Docker and Kubernetes experience.
Experience with CI/CD tools: Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
Scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
Familiarity with monitoring/logging: Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor.
Strong networking, security, and systems administration fundamentals.
Preferred: Azure certifications (AZ-400, AZ-104).
Two-year degree; 0–2 years of software development experience; potential for growth.
Four-year degree; 2–5 years of software development experience; API development a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe deployments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Terraform or ARM templates).
Manage and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure for high availability and security.
Leverage Azure DevOps for version control, pipelines, and project tracking.
Monitor performance and address issues across dev, staging, and prod; improve deployment strategies.
Track and improve DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, MTTR).
Contribute to security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support fast, safe, and repeatable deployments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Leverage Azure DevOps for version control, build/release pipelines, and project tracking.
Monitor system performance and proactively address issues across development, staging, and production environments.Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment strategies, observability, and incident response.
Track and improve DORA metrics: Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Change Failure Rate, and Mean Time to Recovery.
Contribute to the implementation of security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows.

REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES

3+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineering, or related role.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Azure cloud services.
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor).
Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration fundamentals.
