Job description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong experience in CI/CD pipelines, Azure, Kubernetes, and release automation.

You will manage the build-to-production process for .NET applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. The focus is on improving deployment speed, reliability, security, and automation while enabling development teams to release software frequently and safely.

This is a hands‑on, in‑office role that requires close collaboration with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for .NET applications.

  • Release Management: Implement trunk‑based development, automated testing, versioning, and release processes.

  • Kubernetes Deployments: Manage application releases to AKS using blue‑green, canary, and progressive deployment strategies, with automated rollback.

  • Build Optimization: Reduce build times, improve pipeline reliability, and minimize flaky tests.

  • Container Management: Manage Docker images and Azure Container Registry (ACR), including image security, caching, and build optimization.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Bicep, Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.

  • Security & Compliance: Integrate security scanning, dependency checks, container scanning, and software supply chain security into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Secrets & Identity: Manage credentials securely using Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and workload identity federation.

  • Monitoring & Metrics: Track deployment performance, reliability, and DORA metrics using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues, improve delivery practices, and provide technical guidance.

  • Incident Management: Participate in on‑call support, resolve platform issues, and lead post‑incident reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or release engineering, with a strong focus on build and release management.

  • Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions, including YAML, reusable workflows, templates, agents, and approval gates.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure Container Registry, Key Vault, Entra ID, managed identities, and networking.

  • Production experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, resource optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Good understanding of the .NET build ecosystem, including MSBuild, .NET CLI, NuGet, and multi‑service builds.

  • Practical experience with trunk‑based development, short‑lived branches, pull request validation, feature flags, and maintaining a releasable main branch.

  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform, along with Helm for Kubernetes deployments.

  • Scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

  • Understanding of CI/CD security, dependency management, and secure secrets handling.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with developers and technical stakeholders.

Good to Have

  • Experience migrating between or managing Azure DevOps and GitHub at scale.

  • Familiarity with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.

  • Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd, or advanced AKS networking.

  • Experience working in regulated environments, such as SOC 2, PCI, or HIPAA.

  • Experience integrating performance and load testing into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-400, AZ-104, CKA, or CKAD.
