Job summary

KBR's National Security Solutions in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a DevOps Engineer. This role combines cloud technologies with DevOps practices to enable scalable deployments on Kubernetes clusters and CI/CD pipelines. You will contribute to prototypes and mission-focused projects supporting AFRL and DoD objectives.

Required are an active TS/SCI clearance, a B.S. in Computer Science, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Git, and Linux.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• B.S. in Computer Science; other degrees with relevant experience considered.
• DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce qualification (Security+ or equivalent).
• 2+ years in cloud engineering, pipeline engineering, or Kubernetes development.
• Proficient in Kubernetes.
• Experience writing Dockerfiles and containerizing applications.
• 2+ years of GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git.
• Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy helm charts to Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines to build, scan, publish, and deploy containers and helm charts.
• Troubleshoot failed deployments and pipelines.
• Containerize custom applications.

Our KBR team in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a DevOps Engineer. This role is pivotal in integrating cloud technologies with DevOps practices, requiring a blend of technical skills and operational acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Required:

• Security Clearance:Must have an active U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain
• Education: B.S. in Computer Science. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience or certification.
• DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce qualification (Security+ or equivalent)
• 2+ years of experience with deep knowledge in one or more of the following fields:
  • Cloud Engineering
  • Pipeline engineering
  • Kubernetes development
• Proficient in Kubernetes
• Experience writing Dockerfiles and containerizing applications.
• 2+ years of experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git version control.
• Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently.

Desired:

• Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) certification or similar
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services, certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals or similar) is preferred.
• Competence in building pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Experience delivering a cloud native application.
• Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC flows, or KeyCloak.
• Experience with IaC tools, especially Terraform.
• Experience deploying to air-gapped networks.
• Experience with Cert Manager, OpenSSL, and Public Key Infrastructure.
• Experience with event streaming services, especially Kafka.

Basic Compensation:

$93,700 - $120,000 (For Colorado Springs, CO Only)

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
