We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our expanding engineering team in a hybrid work environment based in Chelmsford, MA. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional passionate about Linux, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation. As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of engineering environments and deployment platforms, working closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles. A strong background in Linux administration and troubleshooting is essential, along with hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes in production environments. Familiarity with Docker, legacy containerized environments, and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins is required. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go, and experience working with Azure cloud services are also necessary. Candidates should have a solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, VPNs, TLS, firewalls, and load balancing, as well as experience supporting relational databases such as PostgreSQL. Knowledge of Git-based source control systems, excellent documentation skills, and effective communication abilities are vital. A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is expected. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Digital Ocean, Docker Swarm, Prometheus, Grafana, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ or NATS, and security compliance standards such as SOC 2. Azure certifications (AZ-104 or AZ-400) are a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of technical and collaborative tasks. Approximately 35% of your time will be dedicated to Linux infrastructure and systems administration, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of core systems. Around 30% will focus on managing Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, and cloud infrastructure, including deploying, scaling, and optimizing these environments. About 20% of your role involves developing and automating CI/CD pipelines, streamlining deployment processes, and ensuring rapid, reliable release cycles. The remaining 15% will be spent on enhancing observability, performance monitoring, and deploying tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, and other performance testing tools like JMeter or Locust.
Daily responsibilities include hands-on engineering tasks (80%), which involve configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining infrastructure components. You will also allocate time to project planning and documentation (5%) to ensure clarity and knowledge sharing across teams. Additionally, collaboration with cross-functional teams (15%) will be essential to support engineering initiatives, implement best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
