OVHcloud US is seeking a senior automation/DevOps engineer to design and maintain robust automation tools across cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrate tools with APIs and databases, and ensure reliable performance through testing and documentation.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and AI-assisted tooling, with hybrid or remote options based on location.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in software development and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Go, PowerShell, or Perl.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM capabilities and curiosity about AI tooling.
  • Expertise in cloud-native languages such as Go, Python, Ruby on Rails, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git).
  • Full stack development experience and knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP and JSON.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash).
  • Experience with data integration via APIs, databases, and data warehousing.
  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation for development, operations, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex ideas clearly.

Base pay range: $120,000 - $145,000 (based on relevant experience).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust automation tools and scripts using programming languages such as Python, Go, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored automation solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Integrate automation tools with existing systems, including APIs, databases, and enterprise software, ensuring seamless interoperability.
  • Ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of automation tools through rigorous testing and debugging processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tools, scripts, workflows, and processes, ensuring clarity, usability, and accessibility for all stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with automation systems promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate best practices and innovative solutions into the automation strategy.
  • Advance the adoption of DevOps principles by implementing CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure provisioning using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Provide technical guidance and professional development opportunities to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Apply AI-assisted tooling to daily work and help the team define where it helps and where it doesn't.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years in software development and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Go, PowerShell, or Perl.
  • Proven experience with automation frameworks, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of current AI/LLM capabilities and limitations, gained through hands‑on use (not just headlines), or curiosity about AI and a track record of getting up to speed on new tooling quickly.
  • Expertise in cloud‑native programming languages such as Go, Python, Ruby on Rails, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
  • Full stack development experience (front and back end).
  • Experience with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Solid knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON integration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (i.e., Bash).
  • Familiarity with data integration and processing via APIs, databases, and data warehousing.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality documentation that supports development, operations, and stakeholder communication.
