Job summary

Legion is seeking a DevOps Engineering Manager in the D.C. area to lead DevOps, DevSecOps, and deployment engineering across mission-critical environments.

This role requires a TS/SCI eligibility and will involve embedded work with customers in classified settings. You will guide deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, platform tooling, and operational standards while coordinating with product, security, and customer teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, or deployment engineering.
• 2+ years leading technical teams.
• Experience in U.S. Government defense or intelligence environments.
• Familiar with RMF, STIGs, accreditation processes, and security hardening.
• Strong experience operating Kubernetes production environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience operating customer-facing production systems.
• Strong Linux systems administration and networking experience.
• Ability to lead technical execution while remaining hands-on.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customer technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps/DevSecOps/Deployment Engineers.
• Establish DevOps standards, processes, and priorities; drive ownership and accountability.
• Oversee deployments, upgrades, sustainment activities, and operations support.
• Manage operational readiness, deployment health, and reliability across environments.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to support deployments, upgrades, incident response, and operations.
• Lead technical readiness reviews; establish standards for velocity, resiliency, and control.
• Guide deployment standards and reference architectures; ensure deployability and maintainability.
• Lead the Deployment Engineering function across cloud, on‑prem, and edge environments.
