Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems seeks expert engineers to lead system administration, CI/CD development, and container orchestration for mission-critical networks.

You will build, test, and sustain radio systems and geo-location software, while ensuring high availability in hybrid cloud environments and traveling as needed for installation and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science required; 4 years experience equivalent allowed.
• 12 years of experience with software deployments, Linux admin, containerization, cloud, and DevSecOps.
• Recent 3 years experience with Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, containerization.
• Active Polygraph within last 7 years.
• Active DoD8570-compliant certs (e.g., Security+) and CCNA.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, upgrade, install, test, integrate, and configure VLP/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF radio systems and geo-location software.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible/Terraform).
• Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters with high availability and security.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for system-critical issues and travel as needed for installation.
• Manage hybrid cloud/virtualized environments and network connectivity across front-end and back-end.

THE WORK

You'll be responsible for system administration, maintenance, upgrades, installation, test, integration, and configuration of VLP / LF / MF / HF / VHF / UHF / Radio Spectrum Frequencies, collection, and geo‑location systems and software (including prototypes, development, operational testing, test, and lab systems). Perform network services from design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of existing networks. Administer LAN/CAN/WAN environments and configure both Arista and Cisco network devices. Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and provide ongoing maintenance for a variety of network devices. Manage and optimize network connectivity for front‑end and back‑end components. Provide 24/7 call‑in support for operational system‑critical discrepancies. Travel as needed for information‑system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Ansible or Terraform. Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Monitor and manage hybrid cloud/virtualized environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science or
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree, or
  • Two (2) years of experience with an MS in Engineering or CS (can substitute for the bachelor's).
• Twelve (12) years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps.
• Recent (within the last 3years) experience in:
  • Kubernetes
  • Cluster orchestration
  • Containerization
• Active Polygraph (within the last 7years).
• Active IAT‑II CWIP / DoD8570‑compliant certification (e.g., Security+) and CCNA certification.

Desired Skills

• Operating Systems & Administration: Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration; scripting with Python and Bash.
• Networking: LAN/CAN/WAN administration; experience with Arista and Cisco devices; network design, implementation, and optimization.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Hands‑on Docker; Kubernetes cluster management (high availability, scalability, security).
• CI/CD & IaC: Jenkins or GitLab pipelines; Ansible or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Cloud & Virtualization: Management and monitoring of hybrid cloud/virtualized environments.
• Security & Certifications: IAT‑II CWIP / DoD8570 compliance (Security+), CCNA.
• Travel & Support: Willingness to travel for system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; availability for 24/7 on‑call support.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
