DevOps Cloud Architect, Digital Engineering Solutions (Remote)

CDM Smith is seeking a DevOps Cloud Architect to join our Digital Engineering Solutions team. This role involves designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that facilitate CI/CD practices, utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, and fostering collaboration between software development and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, including security, scaling, integration, and application migration, and will contribute to research, development, and innovative projects within the company.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Designing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and other platforms, including architecture, planning, and resource management.
2. Implementing DevSecOps culture, pipeline automation, and architectural analysis; mentoring development teams on best practices.
3. Developing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in agile environments.
4. Leading infrastructure automation with Bicep, ARM templates, and scripting languages like PowerShell.
5. Promoting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and creating reusable solution patterns.
6. Developing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system performance and health.
7. Establishing standards and guidelines for cloud platforms, including Azure Active Directory, RBAC, IAM, and security best practices.
8. Analyzing business needs to design secure, scalable, and efficient cloud services.
9. Engaging in research on complex systems such as serverless architectures, networks, disaster recovery, and hardware/software integration.
10. Collaborating with IT operations, security, and architecture teams to ensure best practices.
11. Communicating effectively with cross-functional teams, including non-technical stakeholders.
12. Implementing cost management strategies and resource utilization analysis.
13. Working with multicultural teams across different time zones.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and preferred certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert AZ-304/AZ-500. Travel may be required. The position offers a salary range of $121,368 to $212,368, with flexible remote or hybrid work options.
