Novocure Inc. is seeking a Device Support Specialist to travel within the Scranton, PA area and support oncology patients using TTFields. The role focuses on education, training, and integrating TTFields into daily routines to achieve usage goals.

You will perform device maintenance and data collection during visits, with some duties conducted virtually to ensure accessibility and continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years’ relevant professional experience, or High School/Associate’s with 3+ years’ experience.
  • Clinical or patient-facing experience is highly preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel ~60% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to patient homes and occasionally to physician offices to conduct visits.
  • Educate patients on TTFields therapy and initiation of treatment; provide ongoing training for patients and caregivers.
  • Perform technical analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting of TTFields equipment; collect and analyze patient data.
  • Coordinate with care teams to ensure appropriate therapy settings and continued care; some duties may be through virtual visits.

Job description

Device Support Specialist (DSS) - Scranton, PA

Field Based / Full Time / Permanent

At Novocure, every role contributes to extending the lives of people living with cancer. As our new Device Support Specialist (DSS) you'll play a key part in this mission.

This role plays an essential role in supporting commercial oncology patients using Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields). The DSS focuses on educating patients and their caregivers on TTFields according to product labeling and integrating TTFields into daily routines in order to reach usage goals. The DSS will work to ensure optimum patient outcomes via appropriate therapy settings and continuation of care.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Travel to patient homes, and occasionally to physician offices or healthcare centers, to conduct regular visits which include:
    • Educate patients on TTFields therapy and initiating treatment
    • Provide ongoing enhanced training sessions for patients and caregivers
    • Perform technical analysis and equipment maintenance with troubleshooting and equipment replacement as needed
    • Collect and analyze patient data during monthly follow-up visits and provide individualized coaching with appropriate resources as needed
    • To ensure accessibility and flexibility for patients, some duties may be conducted through virtual visits
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients and their caregivers
  • Follow established timelines and guidelines for patient interactions, ensuring consistency and quality of care
ABOUT YOU

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1 to 2 years' relevant professional experience
  • High School or Associate's degree with 3+ years' relevant professional experience
  • Experience working with patients in a clinical or patient-facing role (e.g. medical assistant, nurse, occupational therapist, etc.) is highly preferred
  • Strong emotional intelligence and situational awareness
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to dedicate approximately 60% of time to travel each week
  • Primary residence must be within assigned territory

These additional qualifications are preferred:

  • Medical device or other patient support experience is a plus
  • Must be very personable with good communication and organizational skills
  • Positive, energetic and service-oriented disposition
  • Ability to work in a fast paced organization with minimum supervision, good judgment and sound decision making skills
WHAT WE OFFER

This pay range which Novocure expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting is $63k - $66k/yr. This position is also be eligible for an quarterly bonus, company vehicle, and restricted stock unit grant in addition to a full range of benefits. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
