Job summary

Batteries Plus in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Store Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist customers with product selection, perform basic tech services, and help maintain an organized, well-stocked store.

You will greet customers, assist with battery and light bulb choices, conduct basic testing and installations, operate the POS, stock shelves, and support safety and store procedures in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical/technical aptitude; willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with selecting batteries, light bulbs, accessories, and other store products.
• Perform battery testing, installations, and basic tech services (including smartphone/tablet repair, car key cutting, and programming – training provided).
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer transactions accurately.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandise displays.
• Receive, stock, and organize inventory shipments.
• Educate customers on product features, warranties, and maintenance.
• Uphold safety and operational standards.
• Support store sales goals through suggestive selling and exceptional service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
