Job summary

fab2 in Austin, TX is seeking a Device Engineer to bridge process development and electrical testing. You will characterize semiconductor devices, design test infrastructure, and extract key electrical parameters to drive process improvements in a hands-on, high-ownership role.

The position requires strong CMOS physics understanding and collaboration across process, test, and design engineers; BSIM modeling and parameter extraction experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • BS/ MS/ PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong CMOS device physics knowledge and electrical characterization.
  • Experience with probe station operation.
  • Familiarity with BSIM modelling and parameter extraction.
  • Experience with lab instrumentation and test automation.
  • Hands-on fabrication and test-structure experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with process and electrical engineers to design probe cards and test structures.
  • Design CMOS test chips for characterization and calibration.
  • Develop test plans to extract key device parameters (e.g., threshold voltage, mobility, leakage).
  • Deploy parameter extraction tools and BSIM models to characterize devices.
  • Analyze test data to inform process improvements and material choices.
  • Develop and maintain test automation infrastructure for efficient characterization.
  • Document results clearly and rigorously.
