Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. seeks a Device and Process Development Intern in Richardson, TX to support advanced wafer-level processes in high performance analog. You will assist in fabrication, data analysis, and process optimization under mentorship.

The internship offers hands-on lab experience, exposure to photolithography, etch, and plating areas, plus training in JMP/Spotfire and Excel, with opportunities to present findings to leaders.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a MS, PhD (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on operation of semiconductor fabrication equipment to develop sophisticated wafer-level processes.
  • Process troubleshooting and recipe optimization, preferably in photolithography area.
  • Experimental design and execution of a fab engineering trial.
  • Projects involving Photo lithography, Electroplating, plasma etch, and Dry/Wet Etch.
  • Data analysis using software such as JMP, Spotfire, or Excel.

Qorvo’sDevice and Process Development Internships are offered in our High Performance Analog business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Hands-on operation of semiconductor fabrication equipment to develop sophisticated wafer-level processes
  • Process troubleshooting and recipe optimization, preferably in photolithography area.
  • Experimental design and execution of a fab engineering trial
  • One or more projects in areas involving Photo lithography, Electroplating, plasma etch, and Dry/Wet Etch.
  • Data analysis using software such as JMP, Spotfire, or Excel

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a MS, PhD (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields
  • Self-starter with good problem-solving skills and interests for hands-on work in a clean room facility
  • Exposure of GaN or GaAs processing and device preferred
  • Semiconductor coursework and/or experience, including standard processing techniques (PVD, CVD, lithography, dry/wet etch, CMP)
  • Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr- $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.

Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
