An established industry player in pediatric care is seeking a dedicated developmental psychologist to join their Prenatal Pediatrics Institute. The Prenatal Pediatrics Institute (PPI) at Children's National Hospital is accepting applications for a full-time developmental psychologist. This role involves patient care, program development, applied clinical research, and advocacy for perinatal to early childhood populations. PPI offers advanced diagnostic imaging and multidisciplinary care for families with prenatal diagnoses of complex fetal conditions, including genetic, neurologic, and cardiac issues. Psychologists participate in screening, assessment, and intervention to support families navigating stress and uncertainty during pregnancy and early childhood. The psychologist will focus on developmental assessments for infants, toddlers, and young children, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting patients longitudinally across inpatient and outpatient settings, including telemedicine.
The role includes contributing to the development of perinatal psychology services, creating new projects, and engaging in advocacy and research collaborations. Participation in faculty meetings and integration into a larger mental health team focused on perinatal and infant mental health is expected. Opportunities for advanced training in perinatal mental health, with potential PMH-C certification, are available.
Applicants should have attended an APA-accredited doctoral and internship program. Preferred qualifications include experience with developmental testing, infant mental health, and pediatric/health psychology. Diversity and underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Education: Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) or clinical/pediatric psychology from an APA-accredited program, with all training completed.
Minimum Work Experience: Experience with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, experience in primary care or multidisciplinary teams, bilingual in English-Spanish.
Required Licenses: Licensed psychologist in Washington, DC, fully credentialed at Children's National Medical Center.
Required Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of psychological diagnosis and treatment, legal and ethical standards, independent evaluation skills, ethical patient care, supervision abilities, quality and safety standards, commitment to ongoing education, and legal/ethical compliance.
Commitment to World Class Care: Provide ethical, professional, timely clinical services; oversee medical care teams; participate in family-centered care; communicate effectively; utilize chain of command appropriately.
Commitment to Advocacy: Engage in advocacy initiatives, contribute to public policy, educate families, and participate in health promotion activities.
Commitment to Education: Participate in educational programs, provide feedback, ensure proper training and supervision of trainees.
Commitment to Quality & Compliance: Follow policies and procedures, complete documentation, identify and improve patient service issues, participate in policy development, review care protocols, evaluate peer performance, report errors, and support quality assurance efforts.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $300,000 annually.
